Budapest The word first appears in Chinese literature during the first half of the Meing- hou Dynasty It refers to a small insect that was initially attracted to the Great Buddha for some unknown reason Those that were closely associated with Buddha have noted that even one so holy as Buddha seemed to be annoyed by these pests at various times particularly during times of deep quiet meditation Since the initial citing the aforementioned  pests have been seen hovering around all carved figures of the pure Buddha and again all Chinese scholars and scientists are at a loss as for an explanation of this phenomenon
